Another parenting Aha moment...

Yesterday we were driving home from school and I noticed that I went almost close to 60mph on a slope in a 45mph zone.I corrected myself and God gave me that moment to teach my kids an important point.A poster in my 5th grader's class says ..."Character is how you are when no one is looking" and I asked my older daughter if it was alright to drive 60 in a 45 zone ,she said no.I said I made a mistake. 53.I am in a coil.Last night brought some news that upset us and it triggered a chain reaction.Its amazing what a small ruffle makes us upset or why we allow these ruffles to upset us when we know that God always provides,He is there.After an emotional tantrum on my part, this morning,God consoled me amazingly.I had a heart to heart talk with Rocky and we opened the pandora's box and let things out and discussed.There are things I need to let go of.., and things I need to be ok with.What she said so blessed my heart today.I thank God for Rocky agian for leading her in my way.

Lessons along the way 2

Today one of the lessons I learnt from Rocky is that we need to give thanks in good times as well as bad times as the Bible says,"In everything give thanks." There is some good hidden behind everything.It could be growing spiritually or it could be character development.True, from my experiences of the past, in every devastation I faced, God was there,shaping me and moulding me and developing my character.I might have left Him but He never left me.He just got me back to His bosom.What a privilege! Thank you Lord.

Thankful to God today for....

19.Today I thank God for the gift of sense of humour instilled in us. My husband decided to shave off his mustache today and in the process he chopped it off in bits and pieces ...he was giving us a fashion show in "mustaching"....he had the charlie chaplin look with the small mustache and me and our kids had a good laugh over it.
20.Yesterday was an incredibly busy day.I thank God for breezing me through it...karate classes,birthday party and back to school night.
21.I thank God for my kids classrooms and their teachers and what they will be doing this year.
22.Thanking God for my favourite song "Mighty to save" that was played when I opened another site.
23.For the abundance of furniture in my home.... few years ago it was hardly so. It always reminds me that God gave us double for our trouble. :)

27.For making my life richer and better.There will always be lack in one area or the other but God fills it in His time.But,in other areas I am really rich.
28.Today the apartment management removed a grassy area next to my patio and planted some lovely plants.I thank God for this unexpected blessing. I was wanting to put a lot of plants,in addition to my few, in my patio but somehow could not get around it....and this was really an unexpected blessing.

13. In my lowest times, I thank God that He was always there. He was and is always there as my Heavenly Father quieting me,chiding me,comforting me gently. Without Him, my life would have been in the ruins and worse.I thank God for His grace,goodness and mercy.
14. Today I thank Him for ALL He made me accomplish and making my day better than it was in the morning.
15. I also thank God for giving me opportunites and wisdom-on-the-go to minister to my children about God.
16.I am thankful to God for thoughtful neighbours and friends who make my day.

18. I thank God that as the day ends today, I am able to have my devotions and cover my family with the blood of Jesus.

Lessons along the way 1

12.Today I got a chance on the road to tell about God.I was driving and as I paused along the way there were trees on the sides of the road so that when we stopped at the red lights the shade of the trees provided cool shelter. I asked Pranu how she felt in the shade and how she felt in the sun.In the shade it was cooler so I quoted "He leadeth me beside the still waters"....He leads us in pleasant places when we abide under His wings and He protects us.I thank God for this little opportunity and little piece of sudden wisdom.

One other lesson I learnt from my spiritual mom Rocky today is that when God made Gideon choose men for battle, He asked Gideon to select only those who lapped with their hands to their mouths. The reason behind this is the people who got down on their knees to drink they were always aware of the enemy surrounding, alert for any attack. The main point in the story is it is not men that win battles, it is God who wins the battles.In this case, he used weak vessels-people who drank with their hands to their mouths. God uses weak people for His purposes.

8.This morning I am thankful to God that He reminded me of a song that touched me couple of years ago. It says, He knows my name and knows my every thought, He sees each tear that falls and hears me when I call. I was blessed listening to it again.
9.My friend Bindu and family got their greencard after 11 yrs.
10.For my spiritual mom and friend Rocky who tries to bring out the best in me.
11.For the pretty bouganvilla flowers.

Peace and Blessings

Its a little scary to start off to write in a blog but all the same I hope and pray that God holds my hand and leads me through this journey. As I realise that I am being purified to perfection through my trials, it is my ardent hope that gratitude to God takes precendence over things that go on in my life and also changes my perspectives. I hemmed and hawed to live my own way through adversities as well as good times but then deep inside I do know I belong to God and by His grace,I can overcome all things and its about time I propelled myself in the direction that God wants me to go.He is ever the still small voice in my life....speaking quietly and gently,guiding and providing me with strength and other countless blessings.Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve His eyes,His grace upon my life.
Here begins my list of blessings starting today:

1.For my blog that I started today and I pray that God changes my life.
2.That inspite of the rough edges, I can still lead a peaceful life knowing God is in control and will smoothen the edges out.
3. For my family,my two daughters ,10 and 7, and people I came across today.
4.For little children in my neighbourhood.
5.A begining car driver, for God enabling me to bring my kids safely home from school.
6.For God giving me strength to stand on my feet today amidst my own perplexities.
7.For being able to minister to my children today on being respectful.
